The 1991 International Air Tattoo held at RAF Fairford was among the best Military Air shows ever. It shared two themes for 1991. Firstly, a 'Salute to the Gulf War' that has presented itself since our last visit to IAT at RAF Fairford. The Gulf War theme attracted many pink-coloured fighter jets and support aircraft fresh from the conflict. The second theme for 1991 was 'Tiger Meet', hosted by Royal Air Forces 74 Tiger Squadron, usually based at RAF Wattisham with their Phantoms. This attracted some very attractively themed Tiger colour schemes. The French Armée de l'Air bought two beautifully painted types, a Mirage F1C and a Fougar CM-170R.
